Job Description Summary As Director of Global Technical Training you will be responsible for setting the strategy and direction for technical training globally for Varian Medical Systems. Through global collaboration with key stakeholders, you will be responsible for the strategic design, develop and delivery of technical training to over 1500 service engineers on over 40 products ensuring they have the knowledge to install and maintain Varian products allowing for uninterrupted patient care around the world. You will be responsible to develop growth initiatives that will produce revenue of over 10M dollars annually while maintaining a margin of over 40%. You will be responsible for agile development and delivery mechanisms leveraging asynchronous training to ensure high quality, readily available and scalable training for all regions in the world. You will hire, develop, and evaluate staff to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Job Description As Director of Global Technical Training you will be responsible for the development and delivery of all technical training in 7
Education centers in Europe, Asia Pacific and the Americas. Through global collaboration with key stakeholders, you will design, develop and deliver technical training using innovative and cost-effective strategies to enable servicing and installation of Varian products. Your responsibilities include:
Collaboration with GEO service Vice Presidents to develop and deliver training unique to the regional needs and restrictions. Directs the activities of customer and/or employee training in the service and install of company products. Plans course design and support documentation. Influences internal and external customers and partners Ensures training program(s) meets company and customer objectives. Maintains communication with customers to ensure effectiveness of training. Collaborates with product management in the development phase of serviceable of products. Works closely with product engineering on the documents required to service and install Varian products. Designs develops implements and monitors training strategies leveraging the latest technology to enable high-quality cost-effective training. Responsible to generate additional revenue through purchasable training options for external customers. Assesses the unique geographical needs and respond appropriately to ensure the capacity meets the demand. Designs and implements the strategic vision for technical training for the future Delivers the training, monitors customer satisfaction and adjusts according to business the customer and new product implementation. Will consistently apply the global standards for content and delivery of training Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent; 10 years of related experience. Ability to demonstrate business savvy and acumen Proven ability, competence, and confidence to lead and manage people. Proven ability to demonstrate strategic planning and thinking Excellent collaboration skills Experience in instructional design/presentation. Strong verbal and written communication skills Effective interpersonal skills. Desired Skills 7 years management experience. Minimum Required Skills and Knowledge Proficient in utilizing business tools such as:
E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience in using project management and process mapping software. Experience with HCM (e.g., Workday) or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desired. Salary Range:
$150K -- $200K
Minimum Qualification
HR ManagementEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
